About us
We are a PADI Career Development Centre that offers the full range of PADI courses from Beginner to Instructor. We train the instructors, so you can be sure that whatever course you want to take it will be taught to the highest standard. We are in the perfect place to develop skills, with a shallow bay on our doorstep which is great for practise. No pool-work for us. We are straight into the sea in a safe protected environment.

We are Poseidon Divers
Poseidon Divers is a long established European owned dive school and we pride ourselves on our reputation for thoroughness and friendliness. The best part about our dive centre is the relaxed attitude towards life, which ensures that you won’t have to rush around, getting kitted up at the last moment. All our dives are guided, and group sizes are limited to 6 - safety is a priority. We will not compromise our high standards of training and safety for any reason. We have mastered combining safety and fun and we are sure that you will agree! We are lucky to be based right in the heart of the main bay area in Dahab called Mashraba, which means we are a stones throw from the sea and our house reef which is famous for seahorse and turtle sightings.

Commitment to the Sea
As part of PADI's commitment to preserving the underwater world and aquatic eco-system, all PADI 5 Star centres show their support by conducting an annual beach clean-up day. As well as conducting beach clean-ups at Poseidon Divers we also try to promote Peak Performance Buoyancy & Project Aware specialties as a means to educate divers about the importance of preserving our underwater heritage, not just on a local scale but as a global issue.
Facilities
The dive centre has many facilities to ensure that diving is fun, but also that the pre and post diving activities are too. We have personal lockers, drying rooms, showers, comfortable seating areas, great music and a snack bar which means that you can relax at the centre after diving. As well as air-conditioned classrooms, we have tables and chairs outside for you to either take a lesson on or take advantage of the sunshine and cooling breeze! Full first aid and oxygen kits are sent on all dives with our first-aid/oxygen provider trained staff.
Staff and Instructors
Mats Fischer Head Honcho
Mats is the owner of Poseidon Divers and has been in Egypt for almost 20 years working for many dive organisations in Sharm El Sheikh, Taba and various livaboards in the red sea, managing 3 of them. Mats used to run an underwater Search and Recovery company in Sweden and speaks several languages including Spanish, Dutch, English, German, Swedish and Arabic.
Adam Staff Instructor
Adam has been teaching for over 10 years and has been doing plenty of learning himself. He is a PADI Staff Instructor as well as a Tec Instructor and has even managed a dive centre in the Maldives.
Dave Staff Instructor
Dave is originally from Dublin. He has a knowledge of Egypt from his days working as a tour guide. He has instructed in different environments around the world and is now settled in Dahab.
Shahat Head Technician
Shahat is the go to man. He deals with the Egyptian authorities and the ins and outs of the bureaucracy. He also services the equipment and fills the tanks, as well as organising the cars. In fact, he is the one that makes your dives come together. Like we said, go to man.
Hamdy Head Bod
Hamdy is our odd jobs man. He takes care of the day to day maintenance of the dive centre.
Hamada Head Chef
Hamada is a fully trained divemaster that loves to get in the water. His main focus is on making breakfast and lunch in his on-site cafe. Whether you want a decent coffee, omellete, burger, salad, a mean chicken shwarma, ice cream or cakes he can cook it and make you happy.
Jonpaul Manager
A former divemaster and instructor in Dahab, Jonpaul offered underwater photography services to customers at Poseidon Divers before moving behind the counter. Now he answers your queries and makes the bookings. If you have any questions or suggestions then get in touch.
